Bridge Work: A Bridge is a custom made restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth. When a tooth that has been lost is replaced by a bridge, the teeth on either side are prepared as crowns. Metal Free Restorations:
At our office we do refrain from using Amalgam (that contains mercury) to restore teeth. More currently, a resin material would be bonded to the prepped tooth and cured into place. Advantages of using resin material is that it is tooth coloured and matches surrounding teeth, the resin material is bonded to the natural tooth and helps to hold the tooth and restoration together as one unit for strength. |
